In a statement delivered on October 1, 2009 in Washington, as quoted from a press release the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Friday (2 / 10), President Obama argued, “We are very sorry for the suffering and loss caused by the earthquake in West Sumatra new recently.
His administration, he added, has been communicating with the Government of Indonesia that the United States is always ready to help Indonesia in difficult times.
He also said his government had ordered ranks to coordinate efforts related to the repair and restoration that continues in areas hit by disaster. Indonesia, he added, is the extraordinary state, known for its toughness to overcome natural disasters.
U.S. Embassy in Jakarta today also announced plans to immediately provide assistance to victims of the earthquake to the Government of Indonesia. (source: Media Indonesia)
